My Five Favorite Plant Accessories

Yes accessories for plants you read that right. As my plant collection has grown I have had to find/purchase ways to make room for everything else in my home including me and my dog, Toby. So Stands, hangers, or some other objects you will se below have made a difference.

 All things purchasable are linked
  1. The Greenhouse 817 Plant Stands

The Greenhouse 817 has an many different plant stands to choose from I was lucky enough to snatch these bad boys up. They elevate the plants and make it easy to style plants around and even underneath. They are made of metal so they are strong enough to hold some of my heavier pots.

You can visit their shop and find your own stands that fit each of your pots! Check them out!

2. Urban Outfitters Triangle String Hanging Planter

Not going to lie when I ordered this online it got tangled and I had to hanging wrong for about a week. Then I saw a photo of it and figured it out. On to the good stuff I love this guy it is the perfect holder for someone who has the ability to hang directly from the ceiling (aka hopefully me sometime soon). It fits two of my The Greenhouse 817 plants giving them some room to dangle.

3. Urban Outfitters Metal Circle Hanging Planter

This beautiful rose gold plant hanger is perfect for holding up my heavier plant. My rope plant is not a light load and this hanger holds it pretty well. I cant hang it the way I want to just yet but I am excited to give this plant the extra height it needs to grow its crazy long arms.

5. My great grandfathers old briefcase

Probably the coolest thing I have given. I love family heirlooms especially ones with such character. I have given this briefcase new life by making it into a small plant stand. It helps elevate a few plants to give some height variation among my specimens. I have been worried about the interior structure of the case so to make sure its sturdy I filled it with old magazines giving it the support it needs.

4. Urban Outfitters Caged Metal Hanging Air Plant Holder

As soon as The Greenhouse 817 got new tillandsia airplants in stock I knew i wanted to test my luck in one these amazing plants. I bought my plant then purchased the perfect hanger for it. I am obsessed with this cages hanger because not only does it match the rest, but after I am done watering I can flip my airplant upside down in this hanger and let it air dry with out risk to the plant or the holder itself.

Plant Wishlist

I’ll tell you what I want what I really really want..and it’s plants. Yes I know what you are asking do you really have a plant wishlist and that’s a BIG yes.

I understand that I probably won’t have a chance to own them all because well lighting and environment is a big factor. But these are what I call the dream plants the beautiful leafy greens that would be amazing to wake up to everyday. I honestly just want an in home jungle but I think Toby (my pup) might not be happy.

moonlight caladium

I actually tried this guy out in my current apartment and well it’s dead now. I love how the light passes through and looks almost ghostly

calathea musaica

those tiny little leaf patterns are sooo pretty. I love a plant with large leaves.

This isn’t a specific specimen but I want a lot of tall cacti of all different shapes and sizes. I mean how amazing would it be to have these tall lovely structures in every corner.

Staghorn Fern

I love the idea of a plant I can mount and hang on my wall. The shape of these leaves make my heart swoon.

Bird of Paradise

Again look at those leaves.

Plant Wall

Again not a specific plant but more of an idea. A grid plant wall with all different leaf shapes would be amazing. Not only because it would be so cool but also an amazing photo background.

Silver Bay Chinese Evergreen

Last but not least I have been eyeing the beauty at The Greenhouse 817 everyday since it arrived in the shop. It can tolerate low light and has such stunning coloring.

House plant Tour

Welcome home.. or at least that’s what I say to each new plant I buy.. I have acquired quite the collection of plants at this point. If there is a window there is a plant, and if there is money in my bank account it seems to disappear pretty quickly (sorry mom and dad).

Since my little apartment is at a decorating place I actually enjoy I thought it was the perfect time to do a little blog post apartment/plant tour. So welcome in mi casa es su casa.

Starting off strong this is my little front door/ entry way section. Since I consider this room very very low light with just a single window it features some easy care and low light tolerant specimens.

The plant in the hanging basket is a golden pothos and probably the easiest plant to propagate. I have bottles everywhere filled with cuttings from the lengthy guy. Below him are two plants on stands from The Greenhouse 817. The tallest is a very large aloe vera (who needs to be repotted) and the one below that is a sansevieria again from The Greenhouse 817. The plant all the way at the bottom is another little aloe vera and just to be repetitive I also go this little guy from The Greenhouse 817.

Another one window room lined with plants. In here I dedicate it to all my trouble makers and cuttings. What I mean by trouble makers is I have had that palm on the far right for three years and it has tried to die on me about 30 times. Right now in this window and in this pot he seems to be happy (fingers crossed). I try to collect or recycle cool glass bottles I find and use them for water propagating. The smaller little glass container was actually a yogurt jar. I couldn’t throw the thing away so now its my jar for rooting a sansevieria.

Other then the small plants the other plants in my kitchen are a huge mass cane and rubber tree. Both in terracotta the two big guys are framed by some hanging plants. Both the hangers I got from urban outfitters they are so cute (I actually just got two more to put in my bedroom).

Last but not least my favorite place in the apartment. It wasn’t my smartest decision to purchase a light comforter with a dog who loves to sleep, but you know I am here for the aesthetics. Another reason this is my fav place, it has the most windows. With majority of them facing east, I am drenched in morning light. It’s a very warm and cozy place and this was definitely the vibe I was going for.

It would take me forever to list out the different plants and containers in this room so all are pictured below. Hope you love it as much as I do!
